Ionamin
Ionamin
is manufactured and distributed by Cell Tech Group Inc. and is
available in either 15mg or 30mg quantities. Active ingredients of
Ionamin include D&C yellow no.10, dibasic calcium phosphate, FD&C
yellow No.6, gelatin, iron oxides, (15mg capsules only), lactose,
magnesium stearate, and titanium dioxide. Ionamin's actions include
central nervous system stimulation and elevation of blood pressure.
Drugs of this class used to treat obesity are commonly known as
anorectics, or anorexigenic. Other central nervous system actions or
metabolic effects may be involved. Obese adults who take
Ionamin along with dietary management lose more weight on average
the those treated with a placebo, and diet as proven in a short term
clinical trial.
